v.15 And he (Jesus) said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
v.16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
v.17 And these signs shall follow them that believe: In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.
v.18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:15-18)
Jesus knew that the church would need power to spread the gospel and complete the Great Commission. That is why He commanded the disciples to wait for the promise in Jerusalem and receive power from on high.
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. (Mark 16:20)
v.4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
v.5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
v.6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did,
v.7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
v.8 And there was great joy in that city. (Acts 8:4-8)
Does this happen in your city? church? home? If not, then you need the gifts of the Spirit. We all need the gifts of the Spirit. If Jesus needed the gifts of the Spirit, then so do YOU!
