I encourage you to know what YOU believe. It is sad that most Christian’s don’t know what the Bible means. They go to church week after week but they don’t know what they believe. Jesus said “Let no man deceive you”. If you don’t understand the Bible then how will you know if what you are being taught is true or not? Don’t just go to church to socialize. And don’t go to a church just because that is where the crowd is going. Find a good Bible believing church that teaches the Bible in a way that you can understand what is being taught. Ask God what church you should go to.
When I got saved, one of the first things the Lord wanted me to do was to study the Bible to find out if what people preach and teach is true or not. There are people who will believe anything the church teaches. Instead of searching the Bible to see if it’s true or not. The Bible is the most misunderstood book in the world. Even with all of the many translations that we have today. People struggle with knowing what the Bible teaches.
Ask God to help you understand the Bible. When I got saved I didn’t know hardly anything about the Bible. I tried four translations and I still didn’t understand what I was reading. I said my shortest prayer that day, “Lord, teach me”. And I have been learning ever since then. I think every Christian should have a good study Bible that easy to understand. I suggest praying about this. I use the Hebrew/Greek Key Study Bible in the King James Version. Some people think that it’s written in Hebrew and Greek but it’s in the King James Version. Once you learn how to use your study Bible, you will see how easy it is to learn the Bible each day. If you are taking advice from other Christian’s. Be sure they are telling the truth that can be found in the Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to know the truth.
The best way to grow in the Lord is by praying about the things you don’t understand and allow the Holy Spirit to help you pray and study the Bible. Keep a journal to write down what you learned that day. Also, just think about what you have read and you will begin to learn more.
